Hand And Finger Amputations

Partial or complete amputations of the hands and fingers are situations where early intervention is of great importance. In complete amputations, the limb is completely separated from the body. In the meantime, since the veins are amputated, the amputated part must be sewn back to its place immediately. In partial amputations, the connection of the hand or finger with the body continues, albeit to some extent. If the veins are intact, some blood circulation takes place from the part that continues to be connected to the body. Therefore, it can be said that the time for intervention is longer. The biggest factor affecting the success rate of treatment and surgical interventions in hand and finger amputations is the speed of delivery of the broken piece to the health institution with the patient. The process of suturing the broken organ is called replantation. It may not always be possible to suture the organ in hand and finger amputations, in this case, whether the part can be sutured or not depends on the level of damage to the organ.
